Justin Bieber releases new album after four years
After four long years of waiting, Beliebers are full of excitement and surprise following the recent release of Justin Bieber’s latest album, Changes.
The Canadian singer-songwriter took a needed break from the spotlight to focus on his health, after the release of his 2015 album, Purpose, but is now returning to the recording studio.
On Valentine’s Day of this year, Bieber revealed his new album, displaying a cover photo of him drenched in red, titled Changes.
The album consists of a total of 17 tracks, including collaborations with popular artists such as Travis Scott, Quavo, Post Malone, Kehlani, and Summer Walker.
Speaking of his Changes album, Bieber expressed to fans at an exclusive listening party in London, “It’s been a rough couple of years, I was going through a lot of different changes, it’s been interesting.”
The album, with an R&B flair, reflects some of the changes, hardships, and challenges Bieber has experienced, such as struggles with mental health and Lyme disease diagnosis.
Throughout the full 51 minutes of Changes, the album sustains a vibe that is dreamy and personal, reflecting the singer’s love for his new wife, Hailey Bieber, who remains a large inspiration behind the album’s creation.
For some fans, Changes is everything they hoped for. For others, they feel that Changes isn’t quite the album they waited more than four years for.
Senior Jasmine Lopez expresses “Justin Bieber definitely surprised me, it’s not exactly what I was expecting.”
Along with the release of the long-awaited album, the singer also announced a massive tour across the U.S, consisting of 45 shows.
The Changes Tour is scheduled to begin on May 14th, and continue through the end of September, including a concert in San Diego, at Pechanga Arena, on May 26th.
Senior Samantha Johnson explains, “I was hoping to see him on tour this year, but after hearing the full album, I’m not quite sure.”
Though it received mixed ratings from critics and fans, Bieber’s Changes album is adored by many long-time Beliebers across the nation, quickly accumulating over 135 million streams, as well as gaining global popularity.
Many claim that Justin Bieber appears to be happier now that he is back to recording music. With the release of Changes, Bieber gives fans a close look into his life as of 2020, including all the ups, the downs, and the changes.
