Highly anticipated Frozen 2 finally released in theaters

On November 27th, 2013 Disney released their new movie "Frozen", a movie starring two sisters, Anna and Elsa, and their journey discovering Elsa's winter powers. In the first movie, Anna, Elsa’s sister, Kristoff, his reindeer sidekick Sven, Olaf the lively snowman, and others help and fight through the challenges to fight the winter caused by Elsa’s ice powers.

Frozen 2, originally, was going to be released on November 27th, but Disney decided to make it November 22nd. The trailer to the new movie set a new record for Disney, racking up an impressive 116.4 million views within the first 24 hours of it’s release.

The movie takes place three years after the gates opened in the first movie, and rather than a specific villain, there will just be obstacles for the characters to get passed. During their travels through these obstacles, the group meets some new creatures, and some new characters.

Queen Iduna, voiced by Evan Rachel Wood, is a newer character to the movie series, being the mother of Anna and Elsa.

While she was in the first movie, she wasn’t in many scenes, and she didn’t speak. In Frozen 2, she is said to be a much bigger character than she originally was. There will also be a water spirit called “The Nokk,” Bruni the salamander, and the Earth giants.

”I feel like they’re going to be evil.” said junior Hewan Mitiku. According to collider.com, Gale is a wind spirit, not a physical being. “The designers also used color, pattern and light to help bring the character to life. With a character like Gale, the audience also has to be able to track her through a scene.”

There is also said to be some new music. The continuation of “Reindeers Are Better Than People” will make an appearance, as well as a song called “Some Things Never Change”, sung by the cast.

There are some popular artists taking part in the soundtrack of the movie also, including Kacey Musgraves, Weezer, and Panic! At the Disco.

There are many different expectations for this movie from Disney fans.”I’m expecting, a lot more challenges for Elsa” says junior Maddison Wood. “I feel like Anna is going to have powers or something, because she’s always been different than her sister, and the way they are playing out the movie the storyline would be easier to follow.”

There are also expectations for the different relationships with the characters, especially for Anna and Kristoff. Junior Valina Lams is one of these fans to set these expectations. “I expect them to be married now, Anna and Kristoff, and maybe for them to have a kid.”

Whether you’re a Disney fan or not, Frozen 2 is definitely a movie people are excited to test out.
